Tonight is going to be a
long night for me, as my Cinema As Art Form final is tomorrow at 2 and I've got five movies to re-watch and theorize about before that time, but as I wait for
The Thin Red Line and
Paths of Glory to become available, I thought I'd point you all to my favorite blog post of the day,
We Are Scientist's acoustic set on BBC 1, brought to you by Matt over at
You Ain't No Picasso. Be sure to check this out because this is certainly not your average acoustic set, as Keith and Chris from W.A.S. not only perform a completely reinvented and reworked version of their hit, "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt", but they also drop on the unsuspecting public a cover of Sigur Ros' "Hoppipolla". "Hoppipolla" was my favorite song on the band's incredible 2005 opus,
Takk..., and while the cover certainly isn't perfect, it's awesome to hear "Hoppipolla" performed on a guitar and Keith actually does an at least mildly serviceable job of recreating Jonsi's unparalleled vocals. Who knew that falsetto even existed? And it's impressive enough that he could even remember the words, as memorizing lyrics in a language as perplexing and foreign as Icelandic is surely no easy task. So yeah, be sure to check out that set
here, you won't regret it. However, it's time for me to plunge back into the fiery depths of studying hell, so wish me luck and I'll be back tomorrow, most likely a fragile shadow of my former self.

I was told once that Sigur Ros sang in a made-up language, and was under the impression that it was true. Is it?

All of () and some of Agaetis Byrjun was in (made-up) Hopelandic but I think that all, or at least the majotity of Takk... is Icelandic.
And as for the original post... thanks a lot but it should really be Radio 1 or BBC Radio 1 - BBC1 is a TV channel which doesn't really have anything much in the way of music anymore. Apart from on trailers for nature documentaries where they have plenty of Hoppipolla!
Von, Agaetis Byrjun and Takk... are all sung in Icelandic (excepting "Olsen Olsen" from Agaetis Byrjun), but every song from ( ) is sung in Hopelandic, which is their made-up language.
god gwfas is so hot right now.

The CD which was produced by a male singer (which I forgot his name) and the music was produced by computer sound effects. If you know it could you please let me know the name of the composer.
