The Pioneers

So last night's episode of The OC sucked, as it's been wont to do this season, but one saving grace was the excellent music choices on the episode. The episode opened with a ridiculously melodramatic and highly inflected montage sequence showing Ryan beating the shit out of Volchek, as the opening notes of Bloc Party's "The Pioneers" began to play before shifting into Tunng's cover version of the song, which fit the scene perfectly. Bloc Party's version played later on in the show, before Tunng's cover, with that dramatic "All you need is time, all you need is time" refrain, closed out the episode. Even though I've already posted both versions of the song on GWFAS before, I suspect last night's OC episode will rekindle interest in the song, so I'm posting it again below for those who may have missed it the first time around. And as an added bonus, I'm also throwing in Mystery Jets' excellent cover of the song as well, just to round things out.
